Our management team

Julie Christmas, Nursery Manager

Julie has been the Nursery Manager at Acorn Cottage since 2016 and brings a wealth of experience, previously managing all the nurseries in the Cranbrook family in a career starting in 1993. She has qualifications in childcare and behaviour management and manages and mentors a large team in this busy setting, ensuring high-quality practice throughout the nursery.

Julie’s ethos is to provide children with firm foundations for their future success in early years – by teaching them essential life skills that enable them to take appropriate risks and resolve issues. She is passionate about trying new ideas and making the nursery experience a home-from-home for every child.

Scarlett Cutter, Deputy Nursery Manager

Scarlett has worked in nursery settings since 2019 and began her childcare career at Acorn Cottage. Her lifelong interest in early years education, nurtured through caring for younger family members, inspired her to pursue a role in the sector. This passion has continued to grow, strengthening her commitment to making a positive and lasting difference to children’s lives.

Scarlett values the strong support network at Acorn Cottage, which has enabled her to thrive in her role as Deputy Manager. She finds great reward in witnessing children grow from the baby suite through to graduation, recognising the profound impact that early years educators can have on each child’s journey.

She is dedicated to creating an engaging, inclusive and challenging environment that nurtures each child’s unique potential and provides rich cultural experiences. Outside of her professional life, Scarlett enjoys weight training, spending time with family and friends, and recharging on leisurely walks or shared meals. She is committed to ensuring that every child at Acorn Cottage feels valued, included and empowered to grow and learn.
