Adventurers Club

Adventurers Club is more exciting than ever!
We are still the best ‘Adventurers’ holiday and afterschool club in the borough.
And… we are now really excited to be starting ‘Adventurers Preschool’ and to provide completely free preschool sessions to three year old children eligible for universal Early Years Education Funding.
Our preschool, after school club and holiday club is provided for by degree qualified Early Years Teachers and qualified early years professionals.

Adventurers Preschool
A fun, learning hub with friendly qualified staff, where children come to make new friends, have a great start to learning, a positive early years’ experience and get school ready.
Inside, our homely cottage provides a wide range of learning resources, arts and crafts, cooking, book corner, home corner, science and games to choose from. Endless opportunities for children to be inspired and gain a lifelong love of learning.
Outside, we have a huge garden with swings, monkey bars, a pirate ship, sand play and plenty of room for lots of other games. Our outdoors provides shady areas to relax and quietly learn as well as physical challenges.
We have fun learning activities planned every day for our preschool children and then when the term is over and the holidays begin, holiday club starts.

Adventurers Holiday and After-school Club
We pride ourselves on being a fun home for the holidays and after-school.
Children don’t need more lessons after school. They need fun. Inside there are lots of different toys and games to choose from, including the Nintendo Wii, computer, air hockey and table football, even archery! We also have fun activities planned every day, from colouring & drawing, paper puzzles to cooking, art & craft, reading/listening to stories and of course plenty of toys and other games to keep them entertained!
All this is in a homely environment with exciting trips out everywhere in the holidays; to farms, adventure parks, the theatre, trampolining and gymnastics, including opportunities such as bush craft and science for children!
Term time, we also help children with their homework, so that when they are at home with you, you have quality time together.

I began my career with Cranbrook Nursery & Preschool at Buttercup Barn in May 2000 as a Nursery Practitioner. I then moved to Ivy Cottage as a Deputy Manager and in 2002 I became the Manager. I moved over to Clover Court Nursery in 2010 and at the start of 2018 extended to London’s Working Mums’ East Sheen nursery where I supported during transition between managers. In August 2018, I was appointed Regional Manager for Childcare & Learning Group. My childcare journey began when I was 13 years old, having done a work experience in a Nursery. From that point I knew I wanted this to be my career and to make a difference in the start of a child’s life. I have a BA Hons in Childcare and Education. For the Cranbrook group of nurseries, I am the Regional Manager directly responsible for our Adventurers setting.

I have worked for Cranbrook Independent Nursery and Pre-School since December 2008, beginning my career at Clover court, where I completed my level 2 and 3 in early childhood studies as well as a level 3 in management. In 2014 I decided to further my learning by applying to do a foundation degree in early childhood, then went onto do my BA honours in early childhood. I have progressed from an unqualified practitioner to manager within the Cranbrook group and have loved what each different role entails. I love watching the children develop and grow by providing exciting new activities to support their ongoing learning and development, as well as working with an array of talented, passionate individuals that strive to make our nurseries such wonderful places for children.

I have worked for Cranbrook for 15 years and as manager for the last 9 years. My career started off by working with babies and now has progressed to caring for primary aged children and young people. The challenge of working with this age group has always been fulfilling with so many exciting opportunities, and the pleasure of watching them change as they grow up, supporting them through their different stages of the transition process. Meeting and getting to know Parents and Carers and of course the children, encouraging and working with everyone, is a great personal reward.

While pleased to see children who leave us when they reach secondary school age move on to new things it also makes me a little emotional! It becomes even more interesting when the tables are turned and they teach me how to use some of our recent technology! This age group amazes me with their endless energy and enthusiasm for new things, no day is ever the same! It’s this which keeps me going and my brain active, planning things for their continuous development, keeping them entertained and helping them prepare to become our young society of today.

We know that Cranbrook is only as good as the relationship between our staff and our customers (the big ones and the little ones!) and we plan to continue listening and responding to parents’ needs, quickly and effectively.
