Welcome to our spacious and convenient 84-place nursery located in the heart of Maidenbower. What sets our nursery apart is its unique design, as it is all on one level, providing a seamless and accessible environment for children to explore, learn and play.

We enjoy a strong partnership with local schools, which offers a seamless transition for children as they progress from early education to primary school.

This close connection to our community also allows for collaboration and shared resources between the nursery, local schools and the neighbourhood, creating a cohesive and supportive educational community.

At our nursery, we believe in the importance of free-flow opportunities for children to move and engage in activities both indoors and outdoors. With generous room and carefully designed areas for play, exploration and learning, children are encouraged to follow their interests, express their creativity and develop their skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our experienced staff members are dedicated to providing high-quality early years education, that promotes holistic development and prepares children for future success. Through a balance of structured activities, we aim to inspire curiosity, independence and a love for learning in every child.

Join us at our wonderful nursery in Maidenbower where children can thrive, grow and discover the joy of learning in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Experience the difference of nurturing and stimulating early years setting that values each child’s unique potential and journey.

Our management team

Louise Horsfield-Novelli, Nursery Manager

Louise has worked in the early years sector since 2009, beginning her journey in a small nursery before steadily progressing to the role of Deputy Manager. After the birth of her first daughter, she embraced the challenge of managing a large 103-place nursery, where she discovered her true passion for nurturing young children’s development and supporting her staff team in delivering the highest standard of care.

Her desire to work with children stems from a lifelong love for early years education, deeply influenced by her own childhood experiences growing up in Spain without knowing the language. This personal journey has shaped her dedication to promoting communication and language skills in children, ensuring every child is empowered to express themselves and feel heard.

Louise’s connection to Cranbrook began during her student days, when she completed a work placement at Clover Court. She was instantly drawn to the nursery’s warm, inclusive atmosphere, a feeling that remained with her and eventually brought her back years later. Today, she feels privileged to witness the incredible journey of children growing from babies into confident, capable young individuals.

Outside of her professional role, family is her greatest priority. She cherishes quality time with her loved ones and enjoys reading as a way to relax and broaden her perspective. Her multicultural background adds a unique richness to her story. Born in England, raised in Spain, carrying an Italian surname, and proudly rooted in Indian heritage.

She is committed to creating a supportive, enriching environment at Clover Court, where every child’s voice is valued and celebrated.

Caroline Underwood, Deputy Nursery Manager

With over 30 years of experience in the early years sector, Caroline brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as Deputy Manager. After spending two decades managing nursery settings, she made the thoughtful decision to transition into a deputy role, allowing her to prioritise family life while reigniting her passion for hands-on work with children.

What excites Caroline most about working in early years is the dynamic nature of each day, as no two days are ever the same! She finds genuine joy in learning from the children just as much as she teaches them, constantly inspired by their curiosity, energy, and enthusiasm.

She is deeply committed to the lasting impact that the early years can have on a child’s life, believing strongly in the importance of nurturing their growth, development, and confidence from the very beginning.

Outside of the nursery, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, diving into history, and never misses the chance for a good sing-song! Her dedication to creating a warm, stimulating, and inclusive environment ensures that every child at the nursery is supported, celebrated, and given the opportunity to shine.
