Diane, Nursery Cook – Buttercup Barn

As a nursery cook for the past seven years, I take pride in preparing delicious, home-cooked meals for the little ones! With my Level 3 certification in food hygiene and allergens, I ensure that every dish is not only tasty but also safe for our young diners. I love incorporating fresh vegetables from our nursery allotment and eggs from our happy chickens into my cooking, creating nutritious meals that the children truly enjoy.

When I’m not whipping up delightful dishes, I cherish spending time with my family, especially cooking with my granddaughter on the weekends. I’m an active person who loves taking my dog for walks, tending to my garden, and embarking on fun adventures with my friends. Cooking is not just my job; it’s a joyful part of my life!

Emma, Nursery Cook- Clover Court

I’ve been in the catering industry since 2004, gaining experience in both restaurants and school catering. Before I became a parent myself, I also spent time in the Early Years Sector. I absolutely love my role in the nursery; it’s such a joy to be part of the children’s daily routines, watching them explore new foods and cheering them on during cooking activities. On top of that, I’m a proud parent of two amazing kids and a grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren.

Zoe, Nursery Cook – Ivy Cottage

I trained at Leiths School of Food and Wine, where I graduated as a professional chef in 2017 with distinction. My career has included managing a bakery, working as a private chef, and most recently, owning a frozen ready meal business that provided support to vulnerable individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Having previously gained experience in early years education while caring for my son, I sought a role that would beautifully blend my passion for cooking with my love for working with children. Although I joined Ivy Cottage in July 2024, I have already developed a deep appreciation for the environment here. During my time, I have initiated a cooking club with the children and established a herb garden, allowing them to cut their own herbs to incorporate into our meals.
