“ We are committed to working together to provide an enabling environment in which each child has the opportunity to become a happy, confident and independent learner, who will achieve their full potential ”

About Us

We plan to continue raising the bar of future childcare provision by challenging complacency and pioneering a forward thinking approach today and every day.

One way we will achieve this is to continue making significant investment in our staff by supporting their training and ongoing professional development.

This is because Cranbrook’s success to date can be attributed to the dedication of our staff and their leadership. How this manifests day-to-day is in the excellent relationships that our staff members have with the children and their parents.

Cranbrook Nurseries pride themselves on the commitment shown to the professional development of each individual team. Evidence of this is based upon the large number of staff who are studying or have studied to graduate level, from Foundation Degrees to Masters in Early Years.

All of our nurseries and pre-schools are bound together by the Cranbrook ethos to provide exceptional standards of care and education, and yet each nursery has freedom to develop its own individual and unique character.

The group is steeped in the tradition of focusing on the holistic development of each individual child, and draws on the best nursery practice and the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

All of our Cranbrook nurseries offer a variety of fun activities both inside and outside, utilising toys, arts and crafts, games, equipment and materials which develop the children physically, educationally and emotionally.

Forest School

All of our Cranbrook nurseries have the opportunity to access Forest School – a specialised learning approach that sits within and compliments the wider context of outdoor and woodland education.

Forest School is not just about taking the indoor classroom outside, but letting the children explore a new and exciting environment, whilst learning new skills that they may not have access to during their everyday lives.

The sessions are child-led as much as possible, allowing the children to be in charge of their own learning by following what they are interested in.This learner-centred approach interweaves with the ever-changing moods and marvels, potential and challenges of the natural world through the seasons to fill every Forest School session and programme with discovery and difference.

Each programme also shares a common set of principles, aimed at ensuring that all learners experience the cumulative and lasting benefits that a Forest School offers.

Our Values

Nursery and Preschool Curriculum

Our Learn through Play pedagogy is made up of strategies, approaches, theories and techniques that influence how we teach and support the children to learn in our settings, dependent on their individual needs and stages of development. The curriculum will be unique to the setting and ensure all children make progress in the 7 areas of learning.

This will be supported by the opportunities and experiences on offer which you will see in our enabling environments, positive relationships and the learning and development of all children. Our main aim is to encourage all children to be independent, self-motivated learners and to be equipped with the resilience skills to deal with any challenges they may face.

We offer a variety of fun learning activities and experiences both inside and outside, utilising toys, arts and crafts, games, equipment and materials which develop the children physically, educationally and emotionally.
